On 4/14/24 at 1420 hours, Alaska State Troopers conducted a traffic stop on an older pickup on Island Lake Rd. near Alexander. Investigation revealed the driver, Leann Lynn Hoeldt, 40 of Nikiski, was driving with a Suspended License (with previous convictions of driving suspended). Hoeldt was issued a misdemeanor citation for DWLS and released.

On 4/13/24 Alaska State Troopers were notified of a single-vehicle rollover on the Old Glenn Highway. A passerby called 911 to report the crash and was in contact with the driver, Devlan Stanko, age 26 of Eagle River, who reported no injuries. The complainant then called back a short time later to advise the driver had sustained a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Troopers arrived at the scene with EMS who performed life-saving measures on the driver, but he was ultimately declared deceased. The next of kin was notified.

On 04/14/2024, at approximately 0044 hours, AST received a report of a trespass at 3600 E Palmer Wasilla Highway. Investigation revealed, Nelle Andrews, age 47 of Palmer, entered and remained unlawfully at the Speedway Gas Station. Nelle was arrested and transported to MSPT where she was held without bail pending arraignment.

On 4/13/24 at approximately 2032 hours, the Alaska State Troopers responded to 3250 Palmer Wasilla Highway, Polar Bowl in Wasilla for the report of an assault after the fact. Investigation revealed, that Kenneth Gore, age 28 of Wasilla was involved in physical altercation. A records check revealed that Kenneth had a warrant for his arrest. Kenneth was arrested on his warrant and transported to Mat-Su Pre-Trial where he was held without bail.

On 04/14/24 on 0033 hrs, the Alaska State Troopers responded to an area in Wasilla and contacted a party of individuals drinking while being under aged. Investigation revealed that one of the participants, Jesse Orr-McGee, age 22 of Wasilla, was in violation of the conditions of his probation by consuming alcohol. Jesse was arrested and transported to Mat-Su Pre-Trial where he was held without bail.

On 4/14/2024, at approximately 0830 hours, AST received a report of Burglary in the area of Delroy Road in Houston. Investigation revealed that Garth Vaughan, age 30, of Wasilla, was a suspect for the Burglary. AST located Garth in the area of Leora and Potter Road in Wasilla and conducted a traffic stop. Garth had an outstanding arrest warrant for the original crime of DWLR and was charged for the following crimes. Burglary II, Theft II, Theft III, Criminal Trespass I, Criminal Mischief IV, and Misuse of Plates. The passenger was eventually identified as Miles Richardson, age 37 of Soldotna. Investigation revealed that Miles had an outstanding arrest warrant for $50,000 for the original crimes of Burglary II, Vehicle Theft I, Criminal Mischief III, Tamper with physical evidence, Escape III x2, VCOR and Theft II. Miles was also charged with the crime of Hindering Prosecution I. Garth and Miles were arrested and transported to Matsu Pretrial where they were remanded with no bail.

On April 14, 2024, at approximately 1920 hours, Fairbanks AST received a report of an instance of sexual abuse of a minor that occurred approximately 2-3 years ago in the area of North Pole. Investigation is ongoing.

On 4/14/2024, Alaska State Troopers in Fairbanks responded to the area of Gold Stream for a report of a motor vehicle accident. Investigation determined one of the drivers, Nathaniel Carrillo (age 26) was driving under the influence of Alcohol and failed to maintain his lane of travel, causing an accident with oncoming traffic. Carrillo was arrested and remanded to Fairbanks Correctional Center on 1x count of DUI and 1x count of Probation Violation

Investigation determined Joshua George (23 years old) had crashed into a stationary vehicle while under the influence of alcohol. George was arrested and remanded to Fairbanks Correctional Center on 1x count of DUI.

On 4-13-2024, at approximately 2200 hours, Parks Highway Alaska State Troopers received a 911 call from RICHARD GRAHAM (age 43) and RYAN BLAIR (age 34), both from the Fairbanks area reporting they had ran out of gas in both of their snow machines. The location was south and east of mile 197 of of the Parks Highway. AST from Cantwell and Nenana responded. AST located two snow machine riders that were in the area who agreed to help and took the two gas. One of the snow machines was broke and left in the field. Further investigation disclosed GRAHAM and BLAIR only has the cell phone for communication but were dead, and had already used spare gas because of the epic show conditions. GRAHAM and BLAIR did stay in the location they called, which made it easy to locate them quickly. No injuries were reported and the pair declined medical attention.

On April 10, 2024 at about 4:22 PM, Alaska State Troopers received a report of two people fighting in Tok. Troopers and VPSOs responded and conducted an investigation. Eva Thomas-Churchwell, age 39 of Tetlin, was arrested and remanded to Fairbanks Correctional Center on one count of Assault in the Fourth Degree.

On the evening of 04/06/2024, Alaska State Troopers (AST) in Galena received a report of a snowmachine theft that occurred during the basketball tournament in Galena. The snowmachine was ultimately recovered in Nulato and returned to the owner. Investigation is ongoing.
